How to confirm the model of DC jack

Usually, DC connectors are divided into two types according to the material: plastic and metal

Plastic is suitable for soldering PCB boards, which is cheap but of poor quality and suitable for 

small electronic products

Metal is our main product, made of copper alloy, with high strength, suitable for most products.

DC connectors are divided into Plug and Jack, and we usually judge the model by size

Male/Plug

Male is divided into two types, Barrel type and tuning fork type

5.5*2.1mm DC jack For example

Male: outer diameter 5.5, inner diameter 2.1mm

Female: inner diameter 5.5mm, center pin diameter 2.1mm

By analogy, common DC connector models include

Male: outer diameter 3.5, inner diameter 1.35mm

Female: inner diameter 3.5mm, center pin diameter 1.35mm

Male: outer diameter 5.5, inner diameter 2.5mm

Female: inner diameter 5.5mm, center pin diameter 2.1mm/2.5mm

Male: outer diameter 4.0, inner diameter 1.7mm

Of course, there are exceptions

Male connector: outer diameter 7.4, inner diameter center pin 0.6mm

Female connector: copper tube inner diameter 7.4mm, center hole inner diameter 2.1mm

Male connector: outer diameter 7.9, inner diameter center pin 0.9mm

Female connector: copper tube inner diameter 7.9mm, center hole inner diameter 0.9mm
